Coaching FAQ's

Life Coaching …

is a coming along-side; an ongoing conversation designed to support and empower you to live on mission in your daily life, ministry or profession. The Christian Coaching goal is to seek the Holy Spirit's direction, discover new things about yourself, and to take action to reshape your life and/or business around what you've discovered.

The time we spend together in our coaching conversations will help you gain insights, find deeper personal awareness, align your behavior and actions, and move you forward to the dreams and goals you desire to achieve.

How Coaching Works …

Since each coaching conversation is held by telephone or video chat, I am blessed to coach women all over the world. Each session varies according to need, however most sessions occur every couple of weeks and last about 45-60 minutes.

Brief chats (10 minutes or less) and unlimited emails between appointments are welcome and encouraged for celebrations of successes or to tackle any difficulties that may come up between sessions.

The objectives for each of our conversations are to bring great clarity to the things you are facing, to help you gain insight, and to leave each visit with some specific action steps for achieving your goals, that you will complete before we meet again.

What Coaching Is …

Coaching is about you -- your goals, your learning, and your growth. As your coach, I will come along-side you and together we will seek the Holy Spirit for His direction for you.

Coaching is about your learning -- rather than me telling. While there are opportunities for mentoring in our relationship, you are the ultimate expert on your life. As your coach, I will use coaching techniques such as active listening, open questions, encouragement, celebration, and sometimes challenges; all to help you in seeking, discovering, and moving forward toward your goals and dreams.

Coaching is about action -- your action. Each time we get together, you will decide on 1-3 action steps that you will take before our next conversation. You will be amazed at how quickly you'll see progress toward your desired goals; becoming all you want to be and can be for His glory.

Coaching is encouraging, energizing, and empowering. As you overcome the challenges that may have held you back and you begin to see forward movement to your goals and dreams, the momentum that you gain will give you energy to tackle the next challenge -- and the next. You will be so encouraged by the progress that you make, you won't want to quit!

What Coaching is Not …

Coaching is not therapy or counseling. Although many of the communication techniques are the same, like active listening, reflecting, use of questions, limited advice giving, etc., therapy often focuses on the past to address and unblock a person to move ahead.

Coaching looks ahead for solutions to present issues. It is future and action oriented; for people who are ready to take positive steps toward fulfilling their goals and dreams.

Why Use a Coach …

The Power of Christian Coaching …

Having someone to come along-side you as you strive to explore and understand how to move forward in life and goals, whether Christian or not, is a great blessing. However, it is my belief that there is power in Christian coaching that does not exist otherwise.

Christian coaches bring Christian perspectives, principles, and practices to the coaching relationship. If you are a Believer, you are gifted with the Holy Spirit and called to be daily on mission with Him. Discovering how you can be on mission means being intentional about listening to what He says regarding your goals, actions, and next steps.

As your Christian coach, I will encourage you to listen to the Holy Spirit and then act. Together, we will look at how God has called and equipped you in life and achievement. You can feel comfortable sharing your spiritual needs, doubts, and desires. As a Christian coach, I will support you where you are and encourage you in areas that you want to grow.

If you think 1-on-1 coaching is right for you, drop me a note via the contact page and we'll schedule your complimentary discovery session to explore the awesome possibilities.  Can't wait to hear from you! Penny
